Today the Dow Jones Industrial Average decided to drop another 427 points. My own net worth has dropped by -- hmm, if I can do the percentage right -- should just start up Excel; it's the best calculator because you can see the numbers and formulas.
Yup. 15%. Actually that's not so bad and reflects that I had been saving more cash and bonds and less stocks. Since my company 'promised' about 8 months ago to lay me off next year and they also froze our pensions, I have been saving cash like crazy.
A good quote from the internet: "the market can stay awful longer than you can stay solvent." It was by John Carney writing about some assets that Citi Bank was holding on to until the "temporary market conditions" improved.
Today at work I fixed something that was hard to figure out, which made me happy, and also discovered that some data prepared for $abigproject was done, I think, all wrong for the last 6 months and will have to be reworked. They tried to flatten out a many-to-many relationship into a dimension and it can't be done. Developers were beguiled by some alluring shortcuts that will end up giving the wrong answer. Yuk. Never fun to break the news. Must work on being tactful.
Are you supposed to write a blog for yourself, like a diary, or is it supposed to be interesting to an audience?

Keep in mind that if you block the search engines and do not allow blogger to advertise your blog the only people who are likely to find it are those who know you well enough to do so........
I agree with Mary, just don't list it, change the names of people/companies, and you're golden. I re-opened my blog: maestrasarah.blogspot.com
